Local Councils in England with an annual turnover of £1 million or less must complete an annual return summarising their annual activities at the end of  each financial year. The annual return is made up of 4 sections: Sections 1 and 2 are completed by the Responsible Financial Officer; Section 3 will be completed by the external auditor; Section 4 will be completed by the local council's internal auditor.

Any person interested has the right to inspect the accounts and make copies of the annual return and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to the Accounting Statements.  These documents are to be made available on reasonable notice by application.  Kindly contact the clerk to arrange a convenient appointment with the Financial Officer and a Councillor.  Evening appointments can be arranged.

The audit of Gt Barton Parish Council is being carried out by PFK Littlejohn LLP.  Local electors have rights to question the auditor about the accounts and object to the accounts, or any item in them.  Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.  The auditor can be contacted on the address below for this purpose.
