Getting to School, College or 6th Form from September 2020 - do you need to 'opt in'?
Many thanks to everyone who has commented on the Pre-Submission Draft Neighbourhood Plan. We received around 100 response forms (online and paper) plus responses from Statutory Bodies. We are very grateful to those who completed the online feedback forms as this has made the task of collating views much easier.
Gt Barton Primary Academy have introduced a new scheme to encourage children and their parents to walk to school - the Park and Stride Scheme.
Councils in Suffolk are ramping up activity in order to take on responsibility for local parking management from 6 April 2020.

A new and improved recycling centre will open in Bury St Edmunds on 16 January 2020.
Suffolk Highways are planning to carry out surface dressing preparation works on Barton Road, Thurston and Thurston Road, Great Barton in the period between the 13th and 17th January 2020, during the hours of 9.30am and 3pm. This will require a temporary road closure so that works can be carried out safely. Traffic cones may also be placed to prevent on-street parking so the work site is unobstructed.
